Cerium Takeaways

A contingent of Cerium engineers and account executives including Chad O’Donnell, Senior Account Executive attended Dell EMC Technology World 2019. Now that he has had time to digest the experience, I asked him to share his thoughts on the event.

I asked Chad about his overall impression of the conference, “This was my first time attending Dell Technologies World, and I was impressed with how they brought everything together.” Chad went on to talk about the compelling speakers and exciting new technologies that were showcased at the event. One session he found particularly intriguing was Optimism and Happiness in the Digital Age, presented by Allison Drew, Chief Marketing Officer for Dell, Eben Shapiro, Deputy Editor of, Brynn Putnam, Founder and CEO of MIRROR, and founder and CEO of I.AM and member of the hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas. “The speakers offered different takes on the ever-expanding partnership between technology and people. Their ideas on how businesses can leverage deeper, richer, and more immersive experiences to make a positive impact on people’s lives were eye-opening.

I also got Chad’s thoughts on some of the more interesting booths he had visited on the exhibition floor, “One demonstration that caught my eye was the Dell Boomi integration platform. If your company merges with another company and you rely on purpose-built software to run your business, Boomi’s SaaS offering provides integration between disparate systems via a subscription service. This service could have relevance for our clients; for example, a bank running SAP acquires another bank that uses Oracle. With Boomi they can connect the systems to get them talking with each other and working together.

Near the end of our interview, Chad talked about his key takeaways from this year’s event, “I was energized by the enthusiastic speakers and the innovative demos I saw at the conference. Dell’s vision of moving away from direct sales and embracing the added value that channel partners like Cerium can provide to Dell customers is very encouraging.”

Dell Technologies World 2019 has drawn to a close, but that doesn’t mean the conversations have to end. The conference allowed us to discover Dell’s vision for the future, interact with their latest products, and solutions, and learn more about their strategies for enabling real transformation from the edge to the core to the cloud.
