Ray’s Myth Busters: The Cloud is Not a Place but an Operating Model

In this Episode…

Dell EMC says the cloud is not a place you go, but rather an operating model. Ray sheds light on what they mean by that. By taking hardware infrastructure, and applying software capabilities such as Dell EMC vRealize Operations Manager or Cisco Workload Optimization Manager, organizations are able to utilize SaaS features on top of their on-premises architecture. With this approach, organizations can get the same features as a public cloud, but at a fraction of the cost. In fact, we’re seeing that the on-premises cloud versus the all-public cloud is somewhere in the range of 20 cents on the dollar from a cost perspective.
